Gabriel and Jessies song - "Fade Into Me" - David Cook

I was watching "So you think you can dance" and this song came on. It caught my attention from the first note. I listened to the lyrics, the "feel" of the song, and the more I heard, the more certain I was that this was written for Gabriel and Jessie. The song is yet to be released, but when it is, I'm buying it!!!

So... Tatiana Vila, author of The Ylem, makes this post today about the faces she makes in photographs. It is hilarious and the faces are AWESOME! I LOVED them! It made me start thinking about some of the weird quirks that I have.

My story isn't nearly as funny, and I don't have any pictures, but this is one of my weird quirks. I CANNOT go under a train trestle without placing at least one hand against the roof of my car/truck/mode of transport.

It all started when I was a teenager. My first car (which I still own) was/is a '78 Pontiac Trans Am with T-tops. Whenever I would drive under a train trestle, I would jokingly put my hand on the metal bar between the tops and claim I had to hold the roof up so we wouldn't get squished. Why? Who the hell knows. I was a teenager, whaddya want?

So I did this through all my high-school years. It was one of my trademarks. I did it in my car. I did it in other peoples cars. I did it with my parents (who wondered if I was on drugs. People who aren't high don't do those kinds of things, you know?!) It became a habit....Then it became a necessity.

My weird brain suddenly started to wonder if the reason I got through highs-chool without getting squished was because of my odd little ritual. I became paranoid about it. What if I forgot one day? I didn't want to get squished!



Fast forward *muffled number* years, and here I am. I STILL do it. I can't HELP it! Now I have a husband and kids - I can't let them get squished, now can I?! The only thing that's different now is I try to hide it from my kids (I don't need them having my weird little quirks. Let them develop their own!) So what I do is I "brush something off the ceiling." Or sometimes I have to "check the dome light." My husband just grins behind his hand and doesn't look me in the eye. My husband has known me since shortly after high-school. He knows the truth. Thankfully, he doesn't say a word. And lucky for us all, he's never tried to stop me. ;-)

BOOK REVIEW: Tremble by Addison Moore

They say that patience is a virtue. Unfortunately it's one virtue I am sorely lacking. Let me explain.


I just finished Tremble, and considering it was only recently released, I obviously must wait for the next installment in the Celestra series. I suck at waiting.


Once again Addison Moore delivers a heart-pounding, sigh-inducing roller coaster ride of "angelic" fear, fun, and fantasy.


Picking up where Ethereal left off, Tremble does not disappoint. We learn more about Skyla and her abilities, more about Gage and Logan, get introduced to someone new and intriguing, and find out that not everyone or everything is as it seems.


As before, I will refrain from details, but the imagery is striking in both it's beauty, and sometimes necessary horror, and in this installment, horror is necessary.


This book can be read as a stand-alone, but take my advice: If you haven't read Ethereal yet, go back and get it, then read them both! You won't be sorry.

BOOK REVIEW: Ethereal by Addison Moore

This book was non-stop fantastic!

I purchased Ethereal a while back along with other books, but after finding out what a friendly and kind person Addison Moore is, I moved it to the top of my to-read list. I'm not sorry I did!

I first want to say that I love her ability to create a complete mental image with minimal, yet extremely descriptive words. I was transported to Paragon Island right along with Skyla, and lived her emotions like a linked twin.

Next are the characters. I hate stories where the main character is whiny and weak, or annoying and bossy. Skyla was none of those things. She has a distinct personality, beautifully colored by Mrs. Moore's laugh-out-loud wit. I also hate love interests who are simply eye candy - no personality to go with their ripped abs and sexy smiles. Mrs. Moore kindly delivers with heartthrobs Logan and Gage - each distinctly separate, yet with equally appealing personalities. In a word? Yum!

Finally, the plot. I really enjoyed the revelations throughout the book. I won't mention any spoilers here, but the plot moves along at a brisk pace, the action scenes have you holding your breath, and there are a few surprising twists. Other fast-paced books I have read left me confused, annoyed, or feeling like the author threw in a bunch of irrelevant junk just to keep things "busy." Not so with this one. Each action scene holds purpose, not the least of which is increasing the suspense.

The only "issue" I have with this book is actually a "non-issue." Had I read Ethereal before the sequel Tremble was released, I would be pulling out hair right now waiting for the next one!

If you are a fan of YA paranormal romance this is a must have.
